Dev Log Week 19: It’s Done, Right… Right?

It’s that time again. Pull up a chair, grab a coffee, and settle in for the ramblings of an AVN dev just trying to get stuff done. First off, where the hell did this week go? I swear I took one nap and the whole thing vanished. Now I’m stumbling around like Marty McFly, wondering what happened and why this old guy keeps trying to get me into his car.

The Never-Ending Akari

Akari’s date night scene is one of three you’ll get to choose from in this chapter. These date nights are my way of balancing story and romance development without feeling the need to shoehorn a sex scene into a workday. That said, I still might do that. Who knows.

Akari’s is the largest of the date nights. It’s worth noting that date nights don’t always mean lewd content, but they are an important way to advance your relationship with your chosen LI. Since our little Asian pervert’s scene is the biggest, I tackled it first. I’ve been on it for a couple of weeks now. I’d love to say it’s finished, but it’s not quite there. Right now, the scene sits at over 230 renders, and there’s still more to go before it’s complete. Then I’ll move on to the other two, which are only slightly smaller.

Last week, I asked whether you preferred stills or animations, and many of you said that high-quality stills beat poor animation. I agree. That said, I may still revisit the animation idea once the stills are done to see what’s possible. On that note, my good friend Nuii Pointer offered to take a look at my Blender files during downtime from his own dev work. We’ve agreed this is not a priority for him, but at the very least, I’ll learn from whatever he finds. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate this guy, and if you haven’t checked out his work yet, you should. Echoes of The Cataclysm

Blah Blah Blah… What Have You Actually Done?

This week I stuck to a consistent minimum daily render goal. The render count for this chapter now sits at 1,167, which is about 500 less than Chapter One, but there’s still plenty of ground to cover. Keeping that daily minimum target really helps me work through the load without total chaos.

As always, I appreciate every single member of this community. Seeing your comments on the special renders and chatting on Discord keeps me motivated. Big thanks to all the devs who help me stay sane every week, you know who you are.

Cheers, Bat
