Dev Log Week 27: I Don’t Even Know What to Say

Right, another week has flown by, and I’m pretty sure I have zero memory of what actually happened. All I know is that I woke up today with more renders in the queue, a mountain of work still to do, an office full of empty Monster cans, and a tiger in my bed.

Long story short, I still have a few stills left to finish. Once that’s done, much like a wild night out, I’ll have to piece together the chaos and figure out how to explain it all to my wife.

This week I made solid progress, finishing all the scene creation needed for the final section of stills. I’m really happy with how the environment turned out and managed to keep good momentum on the renders. I completed 121 renders, bringing the total for this episode up to 2,176.

I’m thrilled to be on the final leg of the stills, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what I’ve been working on. That said, there’s still plenty left to do, and I don’t want to rush it. I’ve got music to compose for the episode, some coding cleanup, post-production polish on the renders, and one animation in particular that I want to get absolutely right.

Nuii Pointer, the dev behind Echoes of the Cataclysm, has already helped me out with this animation, and now it’s my job to go in, finish it up, and try not to wreck what this animation wizard and all-around amazing human being has built.

Thanks again for all the support. It really keeps me going. Hopefully by next week I’ll have the stills wrapped up and can move on to the next stage of production.

Cheers, Bat
