Dev Log – Week 5: Getting Back Into the Swing
As I sit here in the familiar haze of creative confusion, I’m once again baffled by how quickly the week’s flown by. Time feels like it’s been moving Interstellar-style—like I’ve been stuck behind a bookshelf, desperately trying to communicate with my past self to send snacks and render tips. But despite the time warp, it’s been a productive week.
I took a few well-earned days off to spend time with family, and that break did wonders for my brain. It gave me the creative spark I needed to tackle a particularly tricky sequence in the scene I’m currently building. The more I work on Chapter 2, the more excited I am for you to experience where Moonlight is heading. There’s still a long road ahead, but I’m genuinely buzzing to keep going—just so you can see what I’ve got in store.
On the visual side of things, Cassie got a bit of an upgrade this week. I’ve moved her over to a Genesis 8.1 model, which means she now benefits from PBR skin—letting me light her more realistically and pushing the overall visual quality up a notch. She deserves it.
The sequence I’ve been working on walks a careful line between wrapping up Chapter 1’s momentum and deepening the mystery and tension that drives the heart of the story.
Progress Stats This Week: 📸 105 new renders 🌆 5 environments 🧍 1 new side character 🎞️ 2 animations
Thanks again to everyone on Discord, Patreon, and the stream regulars—you keep me motivated every damn week.

as if we dont get enough spam on this "game update" channel .. now we got these kids double-posting about NOT-a-game-update >:(
Hi, and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Just to clarify: the two posts that went out in quick succession this week were older dev logs that I’d previously shared elsewhere but hadn’t yet added to my Itch profile. These weren’t posted to the main "game update" channel, but rather as blog entries under the general update category. Unfortunately, when dev logs are only shared as blogs, many followers who want to stay in the loop on development may never see them—which can be frustrating for those genuinely interested in the project’s progress.
Going forward, I’ve made the decision to start uploading all dev logs to Itch so those who are following the game have a complete picture of the work going into the next chapter. It does take a bit of extra effort, but I believe it’s worth it for the people who care about the behind-the-scenes development.
To be clear, I use the general update channel for these dev logs, not the major update/release channel. I only plan to use the major update channel once the chapter is finished and ready for release. That said, I don’t have control over how Itch displays or filters these posts in individual user feeds.
I hope this clears up why the dev logs were reposted. If you feel it's too much content for your feed, I totally understand if you’d prefer to unfollow. But I don’t think it would be fair to stop sharing updates altogether, as many followers do appreciate the insight and want to stay informed throughout development.
Thanks again for your feedback, and I wish you all the best.
just to let you know, as a subscriber, itch makes no distinction between the channels. they all go out as "game update" notifications.
