Dev Log – Week 10: The Walking Bat

This week, I’ve mostly been in a zombified state, clutching the nearest caffeinated beverage like a recovering meth addict. It’s been a rough one trying to juggle work, life, and game dev, but I still managed to push through and make some solid progress.

First up, I wrapped up Scene 3 and jumped straight into the next. It was a lot of fun closing out the scene with LeEclipse’s stunning character, Chelsea. She didn’t put up much resistance to my attempts to make every moment pop and was an absolute joy to work with. Big thanks to LeEclipse!

Even in my depleted state, I knocked out a fair number of renders and moved on to writing. It felt great getting back into the groove with MC and Jack. Their back-and-forth banter flows so naturally, and I think some really great moments came out of it. I’m excited for you all to experience them.

Looking ahead, I’m planning to keep the writing momentum going while I’m in the zone. My goal is to get as much of the script nailed down as possible. I’m also planning to work on the special renders for my higher-tier Patrons this week, so keep an eye out.

The script keeps expanding as new ideas pop up. They’re too tempting not to include, but I’m doing my best to strike a balance. These detours are fun, but I don’t want them to pull focus from the core story.

As always, a huge thank you to my friends and fellow devs on Discord who keep me sane, and to everyone who likes and comments here. It really does mean the world and helps keep me going.

Cheers, Bat
